
Job Summary:
As a Credit Officer at Zora Lending and Financial Services, you will be responsible for evaluating and processing loan applications to ensure that lending decisions are both profitable and compliant with regulatory standards. You’ll work closely with clients and internal teams to assess financial information, determine creditworthiness, and manage risk while delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Credit Assessment:
- Review and analyze loan applications, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation.
- Evaluate the creditworthiness of prospective borrowers by calculating risk ratios and assessing repayment capacity.
- Risk Management & Decision Making:
- Determine appropriate credit limits and loan terms based on risk assessment.
- Make informed recommendations to approve or decline loan requests, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory guidelines.
- Portfolio Monitoring:
- Track the performance of approved loans and identify early signs of credit risk or delinquency.
- Coordinate with collections and recovery teams when necessary.
- Documentation & Compliance:
- Maintain up-to-date records of loan applications and decisions using credit management software.
- Ensure all lending activities comply with applicable Nigerian financial regulations and company policies.
- Customer Service & Support:
- Communicate clearly with clients regarding the lending process, required documentation, and loan conditions.
- Provide timely feedback and support throughout the loan application process.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–3 years’ experience in credit analysis, loan processing, or a similar role within the financial services sector.
- Strong analytical skills with an aptitude for financial and risk analysis.
- Proficiency in financial analysis software and familiarity with credit scoring systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good understanding of lending procedures and the regulatory environment in Nigeria.
